Single Barrel is by far my favorite whiskey!
It was first produced in 1997 and is bottled at 94 proof. To best describe this fine whiskey I have copied what is written
on the back of the Single Barrel box below.
"Fine hand-crafted whiskey from a single barrel individually
selected, bottled and labeled for unique flavor and character. While ageing in the barrelhouses that dot the hills overlooking
Jack Daniel Distillery, the whiskey in each barrel develops a slightly different character. Our Head Distiller, Jimmy Bedford,
tastes the whiskey and sets aside those barrels whose contents he feels have aged to create particularly flavorful and aromatic
whiskey. The whiskey is hand-bottled, a barrel at a time, never mixing it with whiskey from other barrels. We bottle only
a limited quantity of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, marking each bottle with a rick number, barrel number and date of bottling.
All true connoissuers of great whiskey will appreciate its unusually dark color and distinctively rich taste. Jack Daniel's
Single Barrel is a fine whiskey worthy of your most special times and special friends."

Jack Daniel's also produces a Silver Select (pictured below) brand
of Single Barrel. It is not sold in the U.S. and is bottled at 100 proof. I've copied below the description
on the back of the box.
"Jack
Daniel's Silver Select Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey returns to the simplest days of the distiller's art when whiskey was
crafted and sold by the barrel, each with its own individual taste. Each barrel of this select 100 proof whiskey is aged in
a unique location within the warehouse where the whiskey's color and taste mature an extra measure. Because Silver Select
is a single barrel whiskey, bottles drawn from individual barrels offer subtle differences in nose. color and taste. To mark
its distinctive character, each bottle is hand-labeled with its rick and barrel number and its individual bottling date. It
is a single barrel with a singular taste that could only be crafted by the Jack Daniel Distillery."

If
you have the money you can purchase an entire barrel of Single Barrel whiskey. I think the going price is around $9,000 and there is about 240 bottles per barrel. They come with personalized
neck bands. Here's a few pictures of some of these bottles.
